The Full Story

About Us

Growing up, martial arts has always been a a part of KRU Rafael Morel's  life. But it wasn't until experiencing the great pain of losing his first coach and grandfather that he found his passion. It was in that pain that he found Grandmaster Rick Davis. Rick taught Kru how to heal, on and off the mats. The way that Rick believed in Rafael was enough to spark the passion that he continues to carry today. Anyone who came into contact with Rick Davis all learned the same thing: Family, Team, Peace and Love. After losing another coach and mentor, Kru made it his goal to carry on the light of those who lit his and to pass that light onto others. THAT is what Bustos is all about.

Bustos is not the building.. It is the TEAM. We are a FAMILY. All working towards the same FIGHT.

Mission

Our Mission is to bring a sense of community to the area and  surrounding areas, through the authentic practices of martial arts. Team and Family being the biggest motivation behind our mission. We strive to hold space for all to feel as though they have found their second home. Supporting our team as they reach their goals.

Vision

At Busto, we envision a community where people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and genders feel safe, valued, and inspired to work toward a more inclusive and prosperous future for all. To this end, the lens through which we pursue our martial arts training is one of empowerment, equity, and skill-building. We train to build strength, both in body and character; to increase confidence, both in physical ability and personal potential; to seek flexibility and resiliency, both on the mat and in life.
